This weekend started with the women’s retreat at church. Emily Hartman from First Presbyterian in Jackson spoke to us on the heart of contentment. She did a wonderful job taking our hearts back to Jesus and talking through our struggles with contentment on this side of eternity. We had wonderful food and fellowship and just honest conversations and it was so refreshing. I was lucky to get one of these beautiful tulip arrangements to take home to brighten up the kitchen.

Tom hung out with the boys Friday night and Saturday until lunch. He did a great job, and they enjoyed their boy time. They had an ice cream treat after dinner Friday and some playground time Saturday morning. We traded off and Tom went to play tennis while the rest of us had some rest time.
Saturday evening we had necessary grocery shopping and got a quick dinner. Thomas had gotten a certificate from school back in the fall to Jimmy John’s, so we tried it out once before. Since then, he thinks it’s the greatest place to eat. Every time we ask the boys where they would like to go, lately the answer we get is “Jimmy John’s.” Usually we say no. But we gave it another try Saturday night. For a quick sandwich, it’s just fine.
Sunday was church and good naps in the afternoon. We ended the weekend with friends gathered to watch the Super Bowl. We were back home by halftime. Yesterday I had forgotten the boys didn’t see the end and Thomas kept asking, “But how? They only had 3 points.” when I told him the Patriots won.
