The Weekend

Friday Thomas had his Valentine party at school, and Marilyn was able to stay with Arthur and John Lloyd. I got to meet Thomas and his class for lunch and stay for the party. It was sweet, and all the kids were excited. They had an ice cream party and exchanged Valentines.

The weather has been unusually spring like this past week. Friday afternoon after naps we enjoyed some outside time. That evening we had grocery shopping to do and had a quick dinner at Newk’s.

Saturday was more of the same. Tom made his usual pancakes then we headed out to get the boys’ haircuts. We were extremely overdue. As usual they were excited about what piece of candy they got to pick from the jar after they got done.

After that we headed to the playground. It got crowded quickly because everyone was enjoying the weather. We lasted about an hour then headed home to get lunch ready and everyone ready for a nap.

Tom played tennis and later in the afternoon we played and sat outside with the boys just enjoying how nice the weather was.

Sunday was church and community group in the evening. And between those some meal prepping for the week.

We absolutely love weekends like this one! When they’re older there will be more activities to participate in and we will look back on how simple this time we have right now is. We try to be intentional about our time with them. As Thomas will be six right around the corner, we feel more than we ever have how fast the time seems to go. We are so grateful for each of these boys. I am constantly amazed at how much more I learn about God through having children. He’s teaching us so much as we are teaching them to love Him too. It’s the best gift of grace we could receive.

“He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them is his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11
