For the past few years since becoming a mom, I’ve enjoyed that my birthday is always near or on Mother’s day. Matter of fact, I was born on Mother’s Day. It’s really a special time. It’s spring. It’s a joyful time of year with so much to be thankful for.
This year my birthday fell on the Monday before Mother’s Day. Being on a school night we didn’t do a lot to celebrate. We waited to celebrate it and Mother’s Day on the weekend. I did wake up to each of the boys bringing me flowers, though. The day before Tom had taken them to run an errand and Thomas and Arthur each picked out their own flowers to give me. Next year maybe John Lloyd can join in the fun! Before Thomas left for school he had his on the table for me. And later when Arthur woke up, he led me to where his were hidden. Such sweet boys!
Later in the week both boys were bringing home things they had made for Mother’s Day insisting I open it right then. After some convincing they agreed to wait. So Sunday morning the kitchen table was filled with thoughtful gifts and cards the kids made at school. It’s such a joy to see how excited they are about the things they made. I love them all!

Later in the afternoon, we spent some time playing outside and grilling some dinner. I can’t think of a better way to spend Mother’s Day with the ones I love the most!
