Last week I got to spend two days in a row with Thomas at his school. One of those days his school had a fun run fundraiser to build a second playground. They were all so proud and excited! They ran, jumped, and danced until they reached their lap goal. They got finished up just before it was time to go pick up the little boys from mother’s morning out. I checked Thomas out so he could come with me. He was so excited to see his old teachers.

That night we also celebrated Tom’s birthday. After we picked up the little boys, we made a run to pick up a cake and balloons. In keeping with never having a dull moment here, on the way home from the grocery JL threw up in the car. So in addition to putting up a few decorations we picked up earlier in the week and getting dinner started, there was a lot of car seat washing and other miscellaneous items from the car that happened to be in the path of destruction. In the end it all worked out, and we enjoyed the evening celebrating with Tom.
His gifts consisted of a few workout accessories. Thomas and Arthur helped wrap, or observed while I wrapped. They were quick to point out to Tom that they didn’t actually help pick the presents out this time. I think Arthur made some comment like “the mail lady gave those to you”!

We had made plans to go camping Saturday night with friends and their kids partly for Tom’s birthday. Late in the week it became apparent that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate. We were disappointed, but it was the right call. Saturday night was very windy and the rain came Sunday morning. We’re hoping one of the next few weekends we’ll get some good weather to try again.

We grilled the hamburgers and roasted s’mores Friday night at home instead, a close second to actually being around a campfire. Even though we didn’t get to go camping, we still sort of had two nights of celebrating and treats, which just scratches the surface when it comes to showing Tom how thankful we are for him.
